Hi Michael
It has been reported in my local newspaper (Express & Star 3rd January) that Chris Jones, former 39 regiment,
died on the 29th December, following 'a long battle with respiratory disease'. Chris was the founder member of the Midlands
Birds of Prey Rescue Centre, at Stourbridge, West Mids.
His funeral will be held at Stourbridge Crem on the 12th January at 2.10pm. Chris was 65 years of age.

Why!
I created this Website to try and keep alive the memories of all the people associated with the
39th Regiment RA
over the years - 1947 to Date.
Especially:
39th Missile Regiment, Royal Artillery
(Honest John Missile - 8" Howitzer Gun)
1960's era.
I myself served with the 39th Missile Regiment RA from 1959-67. That is why the site is called, the
39th Missile Regiment RA Website, 1960's.
But I'm covering all the years from 1947* to date.

The 39th Regiment is the only surviving Regiment of the 3 original Missile Regiment's
- 24th 39th & 50th Missile Regiment's.
which are now in suspended animation.
The 39th Regiment the only Active Regiment with direct links
to the 3 Missile Regiments which served in B.A.O.R Germany with the Honest John Missile. 1960's era.

There a Reunion on the 5th - 8th June 2009 at Blackpool for the
three units 24, 39 & 50 Missile Regiment's Clubs.
If you served with any of those Regiments or were associated with any of
them at any time - you are welcome to join us at the Reunion 2009 at Blackpool
